Nancy admit they are unsure if they will sign Brazilian striker Mario Jardel.
Nancy assistant manager Paul Fischer admits they are unsure if they will sign striker Mario Jardel.
The Brazilian hit-man has joined the Stade Marcel-Picot club for a three-day trial, as he looks to kick-start his career.
The former Porto and Sporting goalscorer is looking for a way back into the European game following spells with English Premiership side Bolton Wanderers and Italian club Ancona.
After a spell in Argentina with Newell's Old Boys, Jardel hoped to impress manager Pablo Correa, but Fischer admitted they are concerned by the South American's lack of fitness.
"He needs to work," said Fischer.
"We will make a decision on Tuesday. At first, we want to see if he is capable (of playing for Nancy).
"He says he wants to play here. I am waiting for to see his ability on the pitch.
"His few technical gestures are interfered by his lack of fitness so far."
Nancy are keen to find a new striker before Wednesday's transfer deadline, with the Ligue 1 club linked with two Swiss-based hit-men in Basel's Julio Rossi and Thun's Mauro Lustrinelli.
