Edinson Cavani has described himself as the "ultimate finisher" as he continues to propel Paris Saint-Germain's charge for a fifth-consecutive Ligue 1 title.
The Uruguay international is thriving on his new-found responsibility at the Parc des Princes following former PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic's summer departure to Manchester United.
Often required to play out wide to accommodate the Swede, Cavani has played a key role under Unai Emery this term.
The switch inside has seen the 29-year-old fire 24 goals in 25 games for the reigning French champions, and it's a burden Cavani admits is bringing out the best in his game.
Speaking at the launch of Nike's HyperVenom III boots, he said: "My style of game is a bit of a mix between a modern player and tradition striker, more aggressive. The real ultimate finisher.
"Scoring a goal feels a bit like a liberating act. It's a mix of sensations that only strikers can feel in their own guts.
"We work for that, to score. It's like a commitment, an obligation we take with ourselves.
"When you reach the moment to score it's like liberating different emotions such as joy, happiness and also satisfaction.
"You know you're doing what your team needs, goals. For all of this I feel happy and special in a way."
Cavani would have been forgiven for growing frustrated playing second fiddle to Ibrahimovic during their three years together at PSG.
However, now he is being rewarded for his patience, traits he feels are necessary to succeed at the pinnacle of European football as a forward.
"To become a striker you need dedication, focus and professionalism," he added.
"When they pass you the ball inside the area, the first thing you think of is to score. To find the best way to finish.
"When you find yourself in between two opposing defenders, the first thing that comes to mind is the movement that gives you the chance and to complete the action before they stop you."
The new HyperVenom will be available from Nike.com from January 30, 2017.
