Neymar has announced he believes he needs "about a month" before he can return from the fractured metatarsal and sprained ankle he suffered in February.
The 26-year-old sustained the injury playing for Paris Saint-Germain against Marseille. After undergoing a successful operation in early March he has been recovering in his homeland.
Speaking to Brazilian television channel TV Globo, Neymar said: "I need about a month, but it is healing well. Everything is happening normally."
Earlier on Friday, PSG manager Unai Emery shared encouraging news at a press conference as he previewed Sunday's clash with Monaco.
In quotes reported on the club's Twitter feed, Emery said: "Neymar is close to a return after the latest tests.
"He could possibly play in the final matches of the season. We will work towards that."
PSG have either seven or eight games remaining this season, depending on the result of their Coupe de France semi-final against Caen, and Neymar will be keen to return to action ahead of this summer's World Cup.
