Neymar has announced he believes he needs "about a month" before he can return from the fractured metatarsal and sprained ankle he suffered in February.

The 26-year-old sustained the injury playing for Paris Saint-Germain against Marseille. After undergoing a successful operation in early March he has been recovering in his homeland.

Speaking to Brazilian television channel TV Globo, Neymar said: "I need about a month, but it is healing well. Everything is happening normally."

Earlier on Friday, PSG manager Unai Emery shared encouraging news at a press conference as he previewed Sunday's clash with Monaco.

In quotes reported on the club's Twitter feed, Emery said: "Neymar is close to a return after the latest tests.

"He could possibly play in the final matches of the season. We will work towards that."
