Diawara is on loan from Paris Saint Germain for the campaign and has rattled in eight goals as Nice surprisingly top Le Championnat.
The former Arsenal and West Ham forward has yet to decide on his future but will contemplate remaining on the South Coast.
"I won't take the decision," said Diawara. "I am under contract to PSG, who loaned me to Nice.
"But I have my own ideas on the subject and the Cote d'Azur is a place which suits me perfectly."
Meanwhile, Nice midfielder Cedric Varrault has penned a two-year contract extension.
The 22-year-old is now under contract until 2007 after initially signing a four-year deal last year.
Nice are also in talks about extending the contracts of Eric Roy and Romain Pitau until 2003 and 2004 respectively.
