Yakin signed a four-year contract with PSG earlier this month after finalising his switch from Basel but the deal has not been validated.
He passed a medical with the French giants but has been plagued by a nagging groin problem that prevented him from making his PSG debut.
PSG doctors diagnosed the injury as a groin problem but Yakin returned to Switzerland for treatment where doctors contradicted their French counterparts by insisting the playmaker was suffering from a hernia.
The 26-year-old underwent an operation on his hernia and will spend two months on the sidelines.
The surgery has infuriated PSG as they are angry Yakin ignored their doctors' advice and also that the Swiss ace failed to mention the problem during his medical examination.
They have now decided to cancel Yakin's contract after stating the schemer was not ready to fulfil his duties as a footballer when he penned his deal.
"On the morning of Friday August 15, Yakin had surgery to correct a chronic problem which had not been revealed until that point," said a PSG statement.
"Paris Saint Germain, who have been surrounded by eminent doctors, consider that the player, contrary to his assertions and the answers he provided in his medical questionnaire prior to his engagement, was not physically ready to carry out the activity of a high-level sportsman on the day he signed his contract.
"The belief of the club has thus been vindicated and Paris Saint Germain have decided not to continue with Mr Hakan Yakin, who was always under the responsibility of FC Basel, as his contract has not been approved to date."
