Paris Saint Germain midfielder Jerome Rothen looks set to return against Bastia
Paris Saint Germain midfielder Jerome Rothen is expected to return from injury for Saturday's trip to Bastia.
The 26-year-old - not included in the French national squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers - is returning after two weeks spent on the sidelines recovering from a groin strain.
PSG coach Vahid Halilhodzic has no doubt hopes playmaker Rothen's return will help turn the club's fortunes around: PSG currently find themselves 16th in Ligue 1, with only one victory in eight games.
However, defender Bernard Mendy will miss the trip to Corsica. The 23-year-old has been suffering from fibula trouble since August and, like Rothen, has not been named in the current French squad.
PSG hope that by missing the Bastia game and resting during the international break, Mendy will have plenty of time to prepare for the next Le Championnat clash at Nantes.
Meanwhile, in the belief that his dressing room talks have been leaked to the press, the under-pressure Halilhodzic has banned journalists from PSG's Camp des Loges training ground.
