PSG's coach Guy Lacombe has dropped two of his stars from the Uefa Cup return.
Paris Saint Germain's controversial week has continued with coach Guy Lacombe choosing to leave two of his stars out of the Uefa Cup return leg against Derry City.
The Ligue 1 outfit were held to a disappointing 0-0 draw away on September 14, and have suspended midfielder Vikash Dhorasoo since for his criticism of the coach.
But Lacombe has now made the controversial decision to drop French international Jerome Rothen and centre back Mario Yepes from his squad for the crucial showdown at the Parc des Princes on Thursday.
Neither player featured in the first leg, but Lacombe has confirmed that he will rest winger Rothen, with whom he has had stormy relations in the past.
"Rothen is fit to play, but he will resume slowly to rediscover a good feeling on the pitch," Lacombe confirmed.
"I have nothing more to say about Jerome Rothen."
Centre back Yepes should also be left training with the reserves after his omission.
"Yepes is experiencing a difficult period," Lacombe explained.
The big defender has not had the best of starts to the season, and has been guilty of conceding a number of penalties.
With frontman Bonaventure Kalou also having experienced his troubles with the boss, it could well be a busy time for the club in the transfer window this winter.
