Vikash Dhorasoo will learn this week whether or not he is to be axed by PSG.
Vikash Dhorasoo will learn this week whether or not he is to be retained by Paris Saint Germain, with Strasbourg ready to offer the player a possible lifeline.
Dhorasoo has been blackballed by PSG after criticising coach Guy Lacombe, and having incurred a suspension, could now part company with his employers.
Though now classed in the veteran bracket, the gifted former Lyon and Milan playmaker would have no shortage of takers should he leave the capital.
And Strasbourg coach Jean-Pierre Papin has already made his interest known in a player who also reportedly interests Bolton.
"I have called him because I know him very well, and I know about the situation," Papin told L'Equipe.
"This conversation will remain between us, but I think a lot of this player.
"It is a waste.
"If we could sign this talent, it would be a bonus."
Meanwhile, PSG officials are in South America to oversee prospective targets.
River Plate's French-born striker Gonzalo Higuain and Porto Alegre right full-back Elder Granja are under consideration, while Servette Geneva sport director Sebastien Fournier confirmed the rumour concerning Julian Esteban.
"[PSG official] Alain Roche came to oversee him," Fournier told But!
"We are waiting for PSG to contact us. There is nothing concrete so far. Esteban's departure during the winter transfer window is possible. But PSG is not the only candidate and other clubs have made offers."
