Vikash Dhorasoo has hit out at Paris Saint Germain's decision to terminate his contract.
Vikash Dhorasoo has hit out at Paris Saint Germain's decision to terminate his contract, with the 33-year-old also ruling out a return to Ligue 1.
PSG sacked the veteran playmaker for gross misconduct earlier this week, after the outspoken star fell foul of coach Guy Lacombe.
Dhorasoo contests the club's claim, however, and does not believe the punishment meted out by PSG fits his crime.
The former Milan man now plans to attend an industrial tribunal.
"As usual it is a communication problem," Dhorasoo told L'Equipe.
"The coach just had to say: 'Vikash we don't need you anymore - I don't like your character'.
"That way I would have known I was not part of his plans anymore.
"The situation would have been clear. They should have told me that at the start of the season.
"Was what I did that serious? The sanctions were certainly serious. But I just talked and told the truth as I see it.
"I may regret the words I used but I was emotional and I just told the truth.
"I will go in front of an industrial tribunal because I strongly contest what I have been blamed for. It is not a money matter, but one of principles.
"Just because you are a footballer and earn a lot of money, that means you can't talk about your feelings and tell the truth? That is very worrying.
"My freedom of expression is dear to me. You can't buy my silence or rob me of my freedom."
Dhorasoo admits he is desperate to get back into football, but believes a move to another Ligue 1 side would constitute a betrayal of his former club's supporters.
Strasbourg coach Jean-Pierre Papin has already made contact with the player, who admits he would consider a move to the Alsatians, while Dhorasoo is not ruling out continuing his career on foreign soil.
"I already miss football but have received a number of propositions," added Dhorasoo.
"I won't rush though - the only thing I am certain of is that I will not be playing in Ligue 1 again. In spite of what has happened I would not want to betray the fans.
"Jean-Pierre Papin has called me and that is flattering indeed. I will think before giving him a reply, but I have not ruled out going abroad."
