Portugal striker Pauleta wants to end his career with Paris Saint Germain.
Portugal striker Pauleta has told the Portuguese press that he wants to end his career with Paris Saint Germain.
The 33-year-old confirmed he still loved playing for the club in spite of his disappointing start to the season.
PSG have suffered serious problems on and off the field this season, finding themselves just above the relegation zone and having had various problems with their fans, leading to many feeling that it is a club in crisis.
But Pauleta, who is under contract at Parc des Princes until June 2008, has ruled out a return to Portugal as he looks to help the club return to prosperity.
"Several things helped me to make the decision to stay in Paris and probably end my career there," he said. "Even if I have been l not been in my best form for six months, I will not regret this decision.
"Now PSG has to make changes, particularly in regard to the players and people linked with the club. If they want to make PSG a great club, they have to think about changing things."
Meanwhile, the club is yet to sign River Plate midfielder Marcelo Gallardo.
The deal is almost settled for the former Monaco man, but a few details are still to be confirmed.
"Talks are going on, but we can't do anything before 1st January," said Alain Roche, who is in charge of sporting politics at the club.
