Kalou praise for PSG variety

Bonaventure Kalou feels Paul Le Guen is already having an impact as coach of Paris Saint Germain.

Le Guen secured his first win in charge at the weekend as PSG claimed a 1-0 victory over Gueugnon in the Coupe de France.

Kalou, who led the line in the absence of Pauleta, scored the only goal of the game and was also captain of the team.

The Ivory Coast attacker was pleased with the success and felt PSG showed good variety in their approach play.

"Considering our situation, the most important thing was to defeat Gueugnon, whatever the game could show," said Kalou.

"It has been difficult and we knew it would be. We have not been perfectly outstanding.

"However, in the past we used to just kick the ball to Pauleta. This time there have been more variations in our game.

"I take the armband as a sign of trust. When the coach gives you such responsibility, we have to be equal to the situation.

"I am satisfied both on collective and individual levels."
