Paris Saint Germain's current poor run of form in Le Championnat has been linked with the struggling performances of striker Pedro Pauleta.
The Parisian side have not won in Ligue 1 since the end of October and this form has been mirrored by Pauleta, who has missed a host of big chances this season.
The Portuguese star is said to be feeling the pressure after he hit yet another blank in the 0-0 draw with Sochaux.
He said: "I missed several chances, I am so sorry. Tonight I just want to take a plane for the Azores and stay there for the rest of my life."
Manager Paul Le Guen is now looking for reinforcements up-front and top of the list is reportedly Peguy Luyindula, who he knew during his time with Lyon.
The former French international has been loaned by Marseille to Levante, but having not scored so far in La Liga, the Spanish club are keen to part with the player before the end of the month.
An agreement between PSG and Marseille seems possible although a major stumbling block is the huge wages of the striker.
In addition PSG have reportedly resisted the overtures of Bolton and Newcastle for their versatile defender David Rozehnal.
