Paris Saint Germain came from behind to secure a 2-1 first leg lead against Benfica in the Uefa Cup last 16.
It appeared ominous for the hosts when Benfica took the lead with just nine minutes played at Parc des Princes.
Portuguese winger Simao Sabrosa heading high into the net after being set up by Nelson.
Paul Le Guen's side were indebted to striker Pauleta, as the veteran frontman fired home from outside the penalty area to haul his team level in the 36th minute.
The turnaround was complete just five minutes later. Bonaventure Kalou teed up Pierre-Alain Frau, who, like Pauleta before him, found the back of the net from outside the area.
Despite that setback, Benfica will still harbour hopes of progressing into the tournament's quarter-finals following next week's second leg in Portugal.
