Paris St Germain sporting director Leonardo insists David Beckham will not be pressured into making a decision over joining the French giants.
The mega-rich Ligue 1 leaders have made no secret of the fact they are keen to bring the former England captain to the Parc des Princes after his five-year deal with Major League Soccer side Los Angeles Galaxy ended.
Reports in France suggested a deal had already been agreed, but both PSG and Beckham's representatives have disputed such claims.
It is thought 36-year-old Beckham is having doubts over the move as he is reluctant to uproot his LA-based family and relocate to Paris, with reports suggesting he could pen a new deal at Galaxy.
Leonardo says PSG understand his dilemma and are prepared to give the midfielder time to reach a decision.
"The question has never been professional but about family," said Leonardo. "It is a difficult choice to make the whole family move to Paris.
"We will wait a little. It is a personal choice, and it is not that easy to him. We have some time and he has some time too.
"We never stated it has been done. There is no contract.
"We won't push him, we respect him a lot. I know him and have an amazing admiration toward him both as a player and as a father.
"I can understand it is difficult to move, we will leave him in peace."
