Paris St Germain have completed the capture of highly-rated playmaker Ezequiel Lavezzi on a four-year contract from Napoli.

Paris St Germain have completed the capture of highly-rated playmaker Ezequiel Lavezzi on a four-year contract from Napoli. The Argentina international passed a medical on Monday before putting pen to paper. A switch to PSG had been in the offing for some time and the ambitious Ligue 1 outfit are delighted to have concluded negotiations. A statement released on the club's official website read: "This Monday, Ezequiel Lavezzi has been transferred from Napoli to Paris St Germain for the duration of four years. "The new offensive asset of the club will wear the number 11 shirt." Napoli also confirmed the move on their official website, adding: "President Aurelio De Laurentiis and everyone associated with the club want to thank 'il Pocho' for contributing to the growth of the team and the achievement of important goals both in Italy and Europe."

Project

Lavezzi, who has spent the last five years in Serie A, is looking forward to taking on a new challenge in the French capital. He said: "Paris are giving me the chance to develop as a player and I think that the club is going to become one of the most powerful. "I have come because there is a real project in place and the possibility to win things. "I am going to try and do here what I did with Napoli." PSG sporting director Leonardo added: "We are always looking to improve the personality and mentality of the group. A player like him raises the level of those around him. "This is the arrival of a very important player. I think he is going to go down in the history of this club."
