Valenciennes' new signing Abdeslam Ouaddou is out for several weeks after dislocating his shoulder on his debut.
Ouaddou joined the Ligue 1 minnows at the start of the transfer window after leaving Greek giants Olympiakos.
The defender was given his debut in Saturday's encounter at Paris Saint Germain, which Valenciennes won 2-1.
But Ouaddou was taken to hospital after injuring his shoulder following a challenge with PSG striker Pauleta in the final minute.
The Moroccan's shoulder was dislocated in the incident and Valenciennes are expected to be without their recent recruit until February.
