Vahirua has already agreed terms on a contract with the South Coast club but Nantes have blocked the transfer.
Les Canaris have lost a plethora of players during the course of the summer and are loath to offload any more.
But Tahitian forward Vahirua is desperate to complete his switch to Nice after spending his entire career with Nantes.
"I will ask my officials to make a decision," said Vahirua. "It is the perfect moment to turn the page.
"I hope the officials will find their damn player."
Nantes will not sell Vahirua until they have secured at least one replacement, with a deal for Romania international Ionel Danciulescu beginning to flounder.
Even those deals Nantes have already agreed have encountered problems, with Alexander Viveros and Julio Cesar Caceres yet to have their transfers fully ratified.
Viveros has penned a three-year deal with Nantes but is unable to officially link up with the club due to visa problems.
Central defender Caceres has inked a four-year contract but due to confusion over which club previously owned the Paraguay international, his country's federation have yet to rubber-stamp the transfer.
