French referee Philippe Kalt has been accused of abusing Troyes star Christian Nade.French referee Philippe Kalt has been accused of abusing Troyes star Christian Nade in a hot-tempered Ligue 1 clash on Sunday.
Troyes were beaten 2-1 by Paris Saint Germain after a late goal from Fabrice Pancrate, and controversy followed after the final whistle as players from the losing side surrounded and jostled Kalt.
The Troyes players involved have now stated that their anger stemmed from an alleged insult that Kalt made to striker Nade (pictured) after he complained about the amount of injury time awarded.
Veteran defender Jean Louis Montero has expressed his disbelief at the series of events.
"When a referee abuses a player, that is serious for football," said Montero.
"Actually Christian Nade came to tell the referee there was not as many additional minutes, then Mr Kalt called him a 'son of a bitch'.
"I could hear it, I am a professional of 12 years and I have never heard that before."
Troyes goalscorer Georges Ba also reiterated the accusations, insisting that if the tables were turned a severe punishment would no doubt be meted out.
"It all started with Mr Kalt abusing Nade, we all got upset," insisted Ba.
"He said 'son of a bitch, get away' when he came to complain about additional time.
"A player who says that to a referee gets a five or six-month ban."
However, Kalt has strenuously denied the accusations, warning that he will seek to report members of the Troyes team after the unsavoury scenes following the final whistle at Parc des Princes.
"I deny it 300 percent," said a defiant Kalt. "It is a lie and defamation.
"By the way I want to underline the aggressive behaviour of several Troyes players at the end of the match.
"I will make a complementary report I will send to a committee.
"I didn't feel safe."
