Nantes' promising youngster Stephane Drouin has been rocked by the news that he needs surgery.
The 19-year-old defender picked up a knee injury on November 22 against Bastia and scans have now revealed an operation is required.
Club doctors have diagnosed meniscus fissure, which could rule the defender out for several weeks.
Drouin had been predicted to make an impact on the first-team stage this season, but so far he has been limited to making only two full appearances.
