Nantes' Mauro Cetto has targeted another 15 points to secure the club's Ligue 1 status.
Nantes captain Mauro Cetto has targeted five more wins for the club to secure their Ligue 1 status.
Nantes are third from bottom in the French championship and Cetto admits it would be a major disappointment if his club were to drop out of the top flight.
Saturday's 2-1 victory over Nancy was the club's second successive league win, however, and the upturn in fortunes has come as a relief to Cetto.
"It would be a shame to go down to Ligue 2 when you look at the players and the potential we have - everybody says that Nantes are one of the main teams in French football," Cetto told But!
"But we have no right to stay up. We need 15 more points to survive."
Captain Cetto believes Nantes are slowly turning the corner - helped in no small part by a budding partnership with Jean-Jacques Pierre in defence.
"I hope we are starting to be more confident, it will be a great advantage for us," added Cetto.
"I wear the armband but we have three or four leaders in the team. I am thinking of Frederic Da Rocha, Nicolas Savinaud and Fabien Barthez.
"The captain's role is certainly more important when the team is doing badly. With Da Rocha, we talk a lot at training and before the games. We share things and try to motivate the team.
"I also get on well with Jean-Jacques Pierre on and off the pitch. He has played in Uruguay and sometimes we speak in Spanish."
