Bordeaux drew level with Marseille at the top of the table following a 3-0 victory over Sochaux, while Paris St Germain's title hopes receded further with a 1-0 defeat at home to Rennes.
Bordeaux made a stunning start to their match against lowly Sochaux, scoring twice in the opening 14 minutes.
Gregory Sertic and Yoann Gourcuff did the damage, before Marouane Chamakh added a late third to leave Bordeaux second on goal difference.
Paris St Germain had been hoping to close to within five points of Marseille but they slipped up against fellow European hopefuls Rennes.
A tight encounter was decided in the 66th minute when Mamadou Sakho struck for Rennes and PSG could not respond.
Bottom-of-the-table Le Havre came from behind to beat Nantes 2-1 and delay the confirmation of their relegation.
Christian Bekamenga broke the deadlock for Nantes after 23 minutes but Mamadou Diallo equalised before half-time.
Florian Marange then netted the winner on 61 minutes, although Le Havre remain nine points from safety with four games remaining.
