Sergio Busquets has signed a new contract at Barcelona that will see him remain at the Nou Camp until 2021.
The deal was announced on Thursday, less than 24 hours after Barca were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Atletico Madrid.
It includes the option of a further two-year extension through to the end of the 2022/23 campaign depending on performances, while a €200m (£171.7m) buy-out clause has also been inserted.
"My dream is to retire at the club," the midfielder told the club website. "I really want to be associated with the club all my life.
"We have the team to keep winning and the philosophy of the club is unlike anywhere else."
Busquets, the son of former Barcelona goalkeeper Carles, has made 390 appearances, scoring 12 goals.
Since breaking into Pep Guardiola's first team in 2008, Busquets' selfless role in midfield has seen him play an integral role in the most successful period in Barca's history.
The two-time treble winner has won 24 major honours during his eight years at the Nou Camp, including six Primera Division, three Champions League and four Copa del Rey titles.
Busquets has been a mainstay on the international stage too, winning the 2010 World Cup and 2012 European Championship as part of Vicente del Bosque's all-conquering squads.
