Atletico Madrid reclaimed fourth spot in La Liga with a dramatic late 3-2 win over Celta Vigo on Sunday night.
Having fallen behind to an early Gustavo Cabral goal, Fernando Torres netted a stunning overhead-kick leveller before rattling the crossbar with a penalty after half an hour.
John Guidetti then put Celta ahead again after 78 minutes, but Yannick Carrasco and Antoine Griezmann struck twice in two minutes late on to seal the victory.
Elsewhere, Sevilla kept pace with the front-runners after nicking a 1-0 win at Las Palmas. Joaquin Correa struck 10 minutes from time as they became the first side to win in the Canary Islands this season.
Villarreal fought back for a point against Malaga in a 1-1 draw at home as Bruno Soriano's penalty after the break cancelled out an early Charles opener. The Yellow Submarine are six points off the top four, however, after Atletico's late win.
Sporting Gijon gave their survival hopes a boost with a win 2-0 at fellow strugglers Leganes. Sporting stay 18th in the table, but are now just two points off their relegation rivals.
