Attention may be turning towards this summer's World Cup in Russia, but that does not mean teams are not already making plans for next season.

Many sides will be hoping to get deals done before the showpiece tournament as negotiating during it is never easy. That means the rumour mill is already spinning and there are transfer rumours aplenty.

So we asked our friends at Football Whispers to scour the European media to round-up the latest transfer news and big stories.

FRANCE

Looking to find their player another option after his contract with Arsenal ends, Jack Wilshere's representatives have offered him to French champions Paris Saint-Germain. With Thomas Tuchel installed as the new boss, there is little chance they will take up their offer. (L'Equipe)

Although he suffered an injury which will keep him out until the start of next season, Saint-Etienne want to sign former Newcastle United midfielder Remy Cabella on a permanent deal. He is currently contracted to Marseille until 2020. (L'Equipe)

Shouting "Griezmann stay". Hoping to make one last attempt to convince the Barcelona transfer target to stay in the Spanish capital. (Sport)

Rafa Benitez has failed to pour cold water on the possibility of Fernando Torres reuniting with the Spanish boss at Newcastle United. "I think it will be difficult for him to come, not because we do not want him to," said the boss when asked about the possible signing. "I do not know what goes on in his head, but he may be thinking about something else, it would be nice, but I do not think so." The World Cup-winner will play his last game for Atletico on Sunday evening. (Marca)

If Real Madrid want to sign Mauro Icardi from Inter Milan, they may need to act fast. The release clause for the former Manchester United transfer target is set to rise to €180m (£158m). Giving the Argentinian forward a pay rise at the same time. (Premium Sport)

ITALY

Jose Mourinho, wanting to strengthen his midfield in the summer, will offer Lazio €91m (£80m) to land Serbia international Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. The 23-year-old has played 47 games for his current club this term, scoring 14 times. (Calciomercato)

Manchester City have bid €50m (£44m) for Italian midfielder Jorginho, but Napoli want at least €70m (£61m) for the 26-year-old. (Corriere del Mezzogiorno)

Roma are closing in on a deal to sign former Newcastle United transfer target Dennis Praet. The 24-year-old currently plays for Sampdoria and has enjoyed two seasons in Serie A and would join the capital club for €28m (£25m). Juventus, Inter Milan, Everton and West Ham United have also been linked, but the Belgian would prefer a move to the Stadio Olimpico. (Primo Canale)

After losing out on another Scudetto race, it could be a summer of change at Napoli. Both Marek Hamsik and Dries Mertens are considering moves away from the south of Italy. The Slovakian has offers from China and the Belgian forward has a €28m (£25m) release clause in his contract, valid only for clubs outside of Italy. (Gazzetta dello Sport)

GERMANY

Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis could be London-bound this summer, and he is likely to sign for Arsenal in a deal worth around £17.5m. The 29-year-old made 30 league appearances for the German side this season. (Bild)

Rumoured to have made a €60m (£53m) bid for Bayer Leverkusen's exciting winger Leon Bailey, Bayern Munich are not interested in the 20-year-old this year, with both Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery extending their current deals, but he could be an option in the summer of 2019. (Bild)
