Fabricio Coloccini has stated that he would jump at the chance to join Barcelona, after the Catalan club were reported to be weighing up a summer move for his services.
The Argentina international defender admitted that any player would be tempted by the thought of playing for the Blaugrana and that the news had raised his spirits.
Spanish press reports earlier in the week suggested that after a deal to sign Ezequiel Garay collapsed, Barca have now turned their attention to Coloccini.
"The thought of going to Barca excites me," the former Milan centre-back told La Red radio.
"Barcelona are one of the most important clubs in the world and the aim of any player would be to play there."
Despite the reports, Coloccini stated that he was not unhappy in Galicia and would only consider joining Barcelona if he felt it would make him a better player.
"I am comfortable at Deportivo, but if I had to go it would be so that I could improve," he added.
Barça have targetted a new central defender in the summer as Lilian Thuram and Gianluca Zambrotta are expected to leave the club.
Coloccini is still only 26, but has already played for a host of clubs including Boca Juniors, Milan, San Lorenzo, Alaves, Atletico Madrid and Villarreal.
