Ramon Calderon does not think that Hernan Crespo will be one of Real Madrid's signings in the winter transfer window after weeks of speculation.
Los Merengues' president did assure the club's beleaguered supporters that new arrivals would happen in January, but that the Argentinian would not be one of them.
Inter Milan's Crespo was said to be a Madrid target after they stepped up their quest to sign a striker when Ruud van Nistelrooy was ruled out for the rest of the season with an injury.
"I do not believe that he will come," Calderon told Radio Marca when asked about Crespo.
Reports had suggested that Madrid wanted Crespo on loan for six months and would then consider whether to keep him, but the 33-year-old wanted a full-time 18-month deal to leave Italy.
Calderon has previously stated the club would be making exciting signings next summer, but he now believes there will be some news on the transfer front possibly within a week.
"There will be some movement in seven or ten days," he explained.
"They tell me that they will be two young players, with great potential who are forwards and will help the squad.
"They will also be able to play in the Champions League."
