Inter Milan's technical director Marco Branca has confrmed Atletico Madrid star Sergio Aguero is on their list of targets.
Argentine ace Aguero is one of the most sought-after players in Europe after impressing for club and country over the last few years.
Inter have been strongly linked with a move for Aguero and Branca has confirmed the club's interest in the highly-rated forward.
"Like other players he has everything to be considered a top player, a really good player," Branca told Corriere dello Sport.
"We admit following certain players from the many people who each weekend are going to watch matches for us."
Branca insists Inter have not made any enquiries for Aguero and that they are only keeping tabs on his progress.
"But we have not asked the price or opened a negotiation. Neither for him or other players," added Branca
"Now we think only to the present."
Branca did confirm Inter would be recalling Robert Acquafresca from his loan spell at Cagliari at the end of the season.
Acquafresca has impressed at Cagliari and Inter are keen to have the striker in their squad next season.
"Yes [he will return], in Cagliari he's doing good things," concluded Branca.
StubbornMeanwhile, Atletico Madrid's new coach Abel Resino has defended his decision to substitute Aguero during the midweek UEFA Champions League draw with Porto.
Resino replaced Aguero early in the second half of the 2-2 draw on Tuesday night leading to whistles of protest from home fans.
But asked if he would make the substitution again, Resino told El Mundo: "Yes, why not? If I felt it was the right move, for sure. No one is untouchable here."
He added: "Kun is another player, who is important for us when he is well, but another player. That is, he plays or does not play.
"The public is sovereign and can decide whatever it wants but I can't explain every decision to the whole world. I don't have time."
