Eric Abidal insists that he is happy to stay at Barcelona despite the club being linked with a number of top left-backs around the world.
The Frenchman has missed large chunks of the season through injury, restricting the 29-year-old to just 30 starts this term.
The former Lyon man's luck did not get any better towards the end of the campaign when he was sent-off in the UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg at Chelsea subsequently ruling him out of the final with Manchester United.
But Abidal is confident that his future remains at the Camp Nou despite Barca being linked with Bayern Munich's Philip Lahm and Chelsea's Ashley Cole.
"They can come. I appreciate competition. I still have two years remaining on my contract and I will stay," he told L'Equipe magazine.
Although the defender admits that his place is not guaranteed with the Catalans he insists that this makes him work even harder.
"Guardiola won't say, 'Eric, you are unquestionable in the starting XI' he doesn't need to say that to Xavi, (Andres) Iniesta and the forwards because they are the core of the team," he added.
"I don't belong to that core. So I have more reasons to give my best during each match."
