Barcelona have fired an ominous warning to their domestic and European rivals by setting their sights on three or four 'high-level' names.
The Catalan giants won the UEFA Champions League, Primera Division and Copa del Rey in 2008/9 but are determined not to rest on their laurels.
The likes of as David Villa, Javier Mascherano, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and John Arne Riise have all been linked with moves to Camp Nou.
And Barca president Joan Laporta has confirmed the club's intention to bring in a few new faces.
"We anticipate signing three or four high-level names to occupy the positions that the technical staff think need reinforcing," Laporta told Barca's official website.
Samuel Eto'o is one player tipped to leave Barca during the transfer window and Laporta admits there is some interest in the Cameroonian.
The experienced striker is now set to hold talks with club bosses over the next few days to discuss his future.
"We want to know (Eto'o's) plans," Laporta is quoted as saying by Sport.
"We want to treat a player well that has given us everything and I do not just mean because of his goals, but also for his attitude and his character.
"In the key games he has always scored and we will always be grateful.
"Samu is a great player and there are offers for him. We have meetings with his agent lined up for next week in which both sides can say what they would like."
