Guillem Balague reveals Real Madrid are considering including Keylor Navas in a package to secure the signing of David de Gea

Real Madrid are considering including goalkeeper Keylor Navas in a bid to sign David de Gea from Manchester United, according to Sky Sports' Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.

Real Madrid's interest in De Gea this summer has been well documented, but so far no deal has been reached between the two sides.

After United's 2-1 defeat to Swansea, manager Louis van Gaal said he did not know whether De Gea would still be a the club on Tuesday.

And Balague, speaking to Sky Sports, revealed Real are now weighing up whether to add Navas to the deal in a bid to bring the 24-year-old to the Bernabeu.

He said: "Real Madrid are thinking of including Navas into the equation.

"We'll see if Manchester United will accept that but clearly Navas doesn't want to go anywhere.

"So that puts Real Madrid in a difficult position."

When does the transfer window shut around Europe?

The Spanish transfer window closes at midnight on Monday – 18 hours before it does so in England – so any deal to take De Gea to the Bernabeu must be done well ahead of the English deadline of 6pm on Tuesday.

However, the noises coming out of the Bernabeu claim Real will not sign De Gea before the transfer window slams shut.

Balague added: "What is coming out from them at the moment is that the squad is close and they will not sign De Gea.

"Remember we are not far away the from the end of the transfer window which means this may just be a strategy and the line they are putting out there as part of this strategy.

"However, the line from Madrid is that they will not sign De Gea and that the squad is close. We will see."
