Gonzalo Higuain - Napoli to Juventus £75.3m
Higuain became the world's third most expensive player at the time and the biggest domestic deal of all time when he moved from Napoli to Juventus after 'The Old Lady' met his buy-out clause. The move also paved the way for Paul Pogba to join Manchester United. The 28-year-old Argentina forward equalled an 87-year-record when he netted 36 goals for Napoli in Serie A last season and will earn £6.3m annually after tax.
Hulk - Zenit to Shanghai SIPG £46.2m
The striker joined big-spending Shanghai SIPG in a whopping deal from Zenit St Petersburg in June. Hulk, who scored four goals for the Russian club in last season's Champions League, was in the Brazil squad for the Copa America, but made just one appearance off the bench. Hulk joined a squad led by former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson and will reportedly be paid around £320,000 a week or £16.6m a year.
Andre Gomes - Valencia to Barcelona £41.7m
Gomes became Barcelona's fourth summer signing after the midfielder helped Portugal win Euro 2016. "Barca relates to my way of playing football and my identity," said Gomes. The midfielder made 77 appearances for Valencia in two seasons after joining from Portuguese side Benfica. He has also earned 13 international caps with Portugal in less than two years.
Joao Mario - Sporting Lisbon to Inter Milan £38.4m
The midfielder made 171 appearances for Sporting and played in every game of Portugal's Euro 2016 triumph, impressing the Serie A giants so much so they were willing to pay the hefty price tag for the 23-year-old.
Renato Sanches - Benfica to Bayern Munich £35m
The dynamic, technically-gifted Portuguese midfielder completed his move to the Bavarian giants in May before he emerged as one of the stars of Euro 2016 after a string of impressive performances. "I am looking forward to Bayern. And Bayern should be looking forward to me." Sanches told Sport Bild.
Miralem Pjanic - Roma to Juventus £32m
The Bosnian playmaker joined the Italian champions from Serie A rivals Roma after handing in an official transfer request. Pjanic joined the Giallorossi from Lyon in 2011 and last season scored 10 goals in 33 league appearances, while also providing 12 assists. After spending most of his youth in Luxembourg, the 26-year-old established himself as one of the best players in Italian football. "I'm delighted to be here, and I hope to give you lots to celebrate on the pitch. I hope we can win together, forza Juve," he said.
Mats Hummels - Dortmund to Bayern £27.5m
The fee represented the highest ever transfer fee for a Bundesliga player entering the final 12 months of a contract. The 27-year-old had started his career at Bayern, before moving to the Westfalenstadion, initially on loan, in 2008 but spent eight-and-a-half years as Dortmund's most established defender. "Saying goodbye to Dortmund was difficult for me of course. It was similar to 2008, when it was the other way around," Hummels said. "Now I'm looking forward to everything that awaits me at FC Bayern. I'm very excited."
Kevin Gameiro - Sevilla to Atletico Madrid £27m
Gameiro chose to join Atletico in spite of interest from Barcelona and more lucrative offers from abroad. The former Paris Saint-Germain striker 29-year-old scored 67 goals in three years at Sevilla.
Arkadiusz Milik - Ajax to Napoli £27m
The Serie A side were in the market for a new forward following the departure of Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus and they found their man in Milik. The Poland international came through the ranks of the Rozwoj Katowice youth academy and also represented Gornik Zabrze, Bayer Leverkusen and Augsburg before joining Ajax in 2014. He made a dream home debut by scoring a brace in Napoli's 4-2 victory against nine-man AC Milan.
Andre Schurrle - Wolfsburg to Dortmund £25.5m
The Germany forward joined Wolfsburg from Chelsea in February 2015 and scored nine goals in the top flight last season. A string of impressive performances alerted the Westfalenstadion outfit, who wasted little time in signing the 25-year-old.
