In an interview with Spanish radio station Onda Catalana, an angry Simao said: "I think that the FA has to take action, similarly as they did last season against Kluivert.
"I don't want to say too much about the subject, it is now for those who rule to make their decision."
The player was referring to an incident last season, when Dutch international Patrick Kluivert was punished after video evidence proved that he had punched Rayo Vallecano player Cota.
Winger Simao was in agreement with Barca that they would take no direct action but both expect the Spanish FA to take the Argentine defender to task.
The incident happened during the first-half, and could possible have been a penalty. However the referee turned a blind eye and play continued.
Simao said he could remember the whole event, adding: "I remember it well. The ball was 50-50 and as the keeper wasn't coming out to it and I was going to be first.
"The next thing I know, I received an elbow and was then kicked and stamped upon.
"It was a clear penalty. I thought he was not going to stop."
Simao claims he still carries the marks left by Ayala's studs. He has wounds on his head, chest and his legs.
Television evidence clearly showed Ayala backtracking and trampling on the player. It did look as though he could have stopped himself, and perhaps the Spanish FA will now punish the Valencia centre back.
