Ronaldinho, Samuel Eto'o and Thiago Motta will miss Barcelona's clash with Udinese.Samuel Eto'o and Thiago Motta have both been left out of Barcelona's squad to face Udinese on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League after picking up injuries in the victory over Villarreal at the weekend, while Ballon D'Or winner Ronaldinho has been left out of the trip to Italy.
Motta was brought in to Barca's midfield to replace Xavi, who has been ruled out for the season with a knee ligament injury, but the midfielder was stretchered off midway through the second half of the 2-0 win in El Madrigal.
"He has suffered a muscular pull at the top of his right thigh," a club statement read. "Tests carried out on Monday have revealed that he will be unable to play for at least two weeks after suffering a severe strain."
Eto'o also picked up a knock after a strong challenge from Juan Manuel Pena, but he was able to carry on for another 15 minutes before being replaced by Gabri.
"He received a strong blow to the right ankle and it has become very inflamed," the Barca medical report continued.
"He will not be available for the next game as he is undergoing a programme of anti-inflamatory treatment. He should be able to return to training by Friday."
Ronaldinho has been left in the Catalan capital as the Blaugrana continue their squad rotation policy and believe that the game against Udinese is a good chance to give players that have had limited opportunities this term to prove themselves.
Barcelona ensured themselves of top spot in Group C after beating Werder Bremen 3-1 in their last outing at the end of November.
Santiago Ezquerro is included in the squad, along with Maxi Lopez, who is the subject of interest from several clubs, and Damia Abella, who has been included for the first time this season.
