Barcelona have denied claims they are interested in signing Diego Milito.
Barcelona have denied claims they are interested in signing Real Zaragoza forward Diego Milito.
The Argentine, who has been in fine scoring form in La Liga, is part-owned by Italian Serie B side Genoa, whose president claimed this week that the likes of Barcelona and Internazionale had enquired about the player.
Enrico Preziosi's declaration is news to Barca's technical director Txiki Beguiristain, however, who is adamant his club would have to sell either Eidur Gudjohnsen or Samuel Eto'o before contemplating a move for Milito.
And with both players currently fitting the bill at Camp Nou, a move for Milito in the January transfer window is looking increasingly unlikely.
"It is completely false," said Beguiristain, when asked if he could corroborate the reports.
"He is a good forward and an interesting player but were we to sign him then we would have to sell either Gudjohnsen or Eto'o and we are very happy with both these players."
