Real Zaragoza have reportedly signed Carlos Diogo from Real Madrid for é¼4.5m (£3m).
Real Zaragoza have finally completed the signing of Carlos Diogo from Real Madrid for é¼4.5m (£3m), according to reports in Spain.
The Uruguay international defender joined Zaragoza on loan last summer, and the deal was made permanent this month.
There has been confusion about the exact details of the deal, partly as a result of the reported agent's fee - 50% is said to have gone to Paco Casal.
However, the confusion stems predominantly from Barcelona's interest in the player - it had been suggested that Barcelona were waiting for Zaragoza to make the deal permanent so that they could sign him.
It was subsequently rumoured that Real had requested just é¼1m (£680,000) for the player on the proviso that they would receive the full transfer fee if Diogo joined a major club within two years.
Yet Zaragoza sports director Miguel Pardeza has announced that the deal has been completed and no such clause exists.
