Massimo Moratti has confirmed Internazionale are in the hunt to sign Cristian Chivu.
Internazionale president Massimo Moratti has confirmed that the club are currently in negotiations with Roma in regards to signing Cristian Chivu.
Barcelona triggered a scramble for Chivu's signature after confirming their interest in the Romanian international, but Moratti has since admitted that his side are also in the frame to sign the 26-year-old.
"It is two weeks until the press say it will be Chivu's day, but today I won't meet with Rossella Sensi [Roma president]," said Moratti.
"Negotiations are open but there are many clubs interested in the player and whoever makes the best offer will sign him.
"However, should he not arrive, we will remain with these players."
Barcelona still remain in pole position to snare Chivu, after sources close to the player reported he was in favour of a move to the Catalan giants.
