Toulouse defender Jeremy Mathieu is on the verge of joining Valencia as he seeks a 'new challenge'.
The 25-year-old had been linked with Premier League outfit Aston Villa, but he has instead opted for a move to Spain.
Toulouse have impressed this season and a host of clubs are expected to swoop for their star assets, with Mathieu set to be one of many to leave this summer.
The left-back claims there are only 'minor details' to finalise before he makes his switch to the Mestalla.
He told skysports.com: "I am leaving Toulouse. I have made my mind up.
"I had a great time here, but I wanted a new challenge and the Valencia challenge excited me.
"I want to move to the Spanish League. However, nothing is done yet. There are some minor details to sort out and I will be on my way."
