Although supported by the richer elements of Seville society, the club are not known for splashing their cash in the way that neighbours Real Betis did when shelling out for Brazilian Denilson.
Kreek will be watched by Sevilla for a second time in the near future and could use this opportunity to decide whether or not to make a summer bid for the player.
The 31-year-old Kreek could become Vitesse's third defender to leave this year as they look to cut costs, with Marian Zeman having joined PAOK Salonika and Marc van Hintum moving to Hannover 96.
A favourable run in would see Vitesse in the Uefa Cup or even the Champions League, while Sevilla are safely mid-table in La Liga, which is probably the tightest title race in Europe and again a good display of form would see them challenge for the top places next season.
