The Spanish outfit overcame potential hitches on the final day of the transfer window to have the player registered.
Alves will travel over from Bahia on Thursday, enabling him to start training with his team-mates on Friday.
It was believed that the method of payment initially held up the deal, but Sevilla sporting director Ramon Rodriguez confirmed that had now been sorted.
Sevilla coach Joaquin Caparros believes the youngster will be a quality addition.
"He is a player who will come to us and do well in the second part of the league championship," said Caparros.
Alves, 19, said: "It is a new challenge in my career and I trust that I will do well in European football.
"I feel proud by being able to play in a club of tradition in Spanish football like Sevilla."
