The visitors have yet to record a point in their first four matches of the new season but did well to hold out their hosts until half-time, with Depor being reduced to ten men when Lionel Scaloni was sent off four minutes before the break.
Despite being a man short, the home side struck in the second half with two goals in two minutes from Nourredine Naybet (pictured) and Albert Luque before Walter Pandiani scored a third just before the end to seal all three points for Javier Irureta's men.
The result takes Depor two points clear of Valencia at the top while Albacete remain rooted to the foot of the table.
Real Sociedad kept pace with the early frontrunners following a 3-0 victory over Real Zaragoza at the Anoeta.
Following a 0-0 first half, Turkish striker Nihat Kahveci headed home a low Mikel Aramburu cross from the left to break the deadlock on 56 minutes.
Oscar De Paula then scored a late brace to secure the Basque side all three points - the first coming from a superb header following a fine Valery Karpin cross from the right.
He scored his second five later, as Sociedad pull to within four points of league leaders Deportivo.
Real Valladolid scored a comfortable 3-1 win over struggling Espanyol at the Nuevo Jose Zorrilla.
Victor Zapata put the home side in front after just three minutes before Jesus made it two seven minutes later.
Kevin Bobson pulled one back for the Barcelona club to make it 2-1 though the visitors were reduced to ten men when Alberto Lopo was sent off just before the break.
Eight minutes before the end, a Dragan Ciric penalty sealed a good victory for Valladolid.
Villarreal were held to a 1-1 draw by Celta Vigo at El Madrigal.
Following a 0-0 first half, Alexander Mostovoi put Celta in front with 16 minutes remaining but an Eduardo Berizzo own-goal three minutes later meant a share of the points for both sides.
Real Betis and Racing Santander stay in mid-table following a 0-0 draw at the Manuel Ruiz de Lopera.
Sevilla got a point in Mallorca after drawing 1-1 at the Son Moix.
Uruguayan international striker Dario Silva put the visitors in front after 18 minutes but Dutchman Arnold Bruggink equalised for Mallorca six minutes before the break, as the points were shared in the end.
Murcia held Athletic Bilbao to a 2-2 draw at La Condomina, with Francisco Maciel putting the home side in front inside the first quarter of an hour.
However, the Basque side turned the match in their favour when Joseba Etxeberria equalised six minutes before the break and Tiko put the visitors ahead on the hour mark.
However, Murcia earned a point when Luis Garcia Fernandez scored from the penalty spot seven minutes after that.
