Los Merengues won through 2-1 on aggregate, though the match was largely overshadowed by a red-card for Zinedine Zidane.
Real found themselves a goal down after just 37 seconds when Dario Silva wriggled free down the right and pulled back a low cross which, after eluding Ivan Helguera, was thumped into the roof of the net by the onrushing Antonio Lopez.
The hosts really should have levelled the tie on the quarter hour mark, but Antonito was denied by a fine Cesar block after the striker had found himself in space at the back post.
Zidane was then controversially dismissed on the stroke of half-time after unintentionally striking Pablo Alfaro in the face leading to a lengthy interruption as both sides argued the decision.
Numbers were evened up on 53 minutes when Sevilla defender Javi Navarro received his second caution for a cynical block on Ronaldo.
However, despite some late scares Real held on to guarantee their first final appearance of the season.
