The game was lively from the off and the visitors were awarded a penalty in just the third minute of play - much to the disgust of the Murcia players.
Baptista (pictured) stepped up to convert the penalty and Murcia striker Juan Esnaider was dismissed for carrying his protests too far, using foul and abusive language towards referee Vicente Lizondo Cortes a minute afterwards.
Sevilla were awarded a second penalty on 72 minutes of which Baptista again obliged with a finish before numerical advantage was restored when Gerardo Torrado received his marching orders for his second bookable offence.
The game's third penalty was awarded to Murcia and Luis Garcia Fernandez was also successful before Baptista rounded off a perfect evening with his third strike right at the death.
The 120th Basque derby finished level as Real Sociedad came from behind to earn a point against Athletic Bilbao.
Real were punished for not taking advantage of their early supremacy and went behind to a Francisco Javier Yeste strike on the quarter hour mark.
Sociedad pressed forward in search of an equaliser and it came in the form of Turkish international Nihat Kahveci six minutes before the break.
Both sides tried valiantly to find a winner to send their fans home happy but the visitors were reduced to ten men on 52 minutes when Carlos Gurpegi saw red for a second bookable offence.
Sociedad will feel they should have taken more from the game but failure in front of goal meant a share of the spoils for both teams at the Anoeta.
