Sevilla have denied reports that Pablo Alfaro is suffering from heart problems.Sevilla have denied reports that Pablo Alfaro is suffering from heart problems after he was admitted to hospital for tests.
The 35-year-old checked in to the coronary unit of the Hospital of the Virgin de la Macarena after feeling chest pains at his home.
"Pablo Alfaro has been admitted to hospital for tests that he has on a regular basis," a club announcement explained.
"It is part of a programme designed by the club's medical team to optimise the performance of the players.
"The player is in perfect condition. The medical services of the club would like to clarify that Alfaro has not suffered from anything, not even a tachycardia."
The club initially stated that Alfaro missed training due to 'personal reasons', but he was then reported to be undergoing tests to see if he had suffered an arrhythmia.
Alfaro, a qualified doctor himself, is unable to play for Sevilla in their visit to Valencia this weekend as he is suspended after being sent off in the goalless draw against Racing two weeks ago.
