Mallorca's Juan Arango is expected to make a full recovery after being hospitalized.Mallorca midfielder Juan Arango is expected to make a full recovery after being hospitalised following an horrific clash with Sevilla's Javi Navarro.
The Venezuelan was caught by an elbow from Navarro just before half time in Sunday's game at Estadio Son Moix that Sevilla won 1-0.
Arango lost consciousness after the clash and, with blood pouring from a facial wound, started suffering spasms on the pitch.
Mallorca's medical staff rushed to attend the 24-year-old, and he was immediately transferred to the Policlinica Miramar in Palma.
Arango regained consciousness and Mallorca are now optimistic about his progress, although they have not yet given full details about his condition.
However, the possibility of brain damage has been ruled out, but it is thought the player may have suffered a fractured skull.
Navarro revealed he went straight to hospital to check on Arango after the game, and had been left very shaken by the incident."It was important to win, but it's better not to talk about that when something like this happens to a colleague," the Sevilla stopper stated.
"I've been through situations like this before and I don't like them at all. It's awful and very worrying."
