La Liga Round-Up

Third place Sevilla were stunned by a 1-0 home defeat to struggling Osasuna.

Sevilla's hopes of claiming a UEFA Champions League place suffered a setback after a 1-0 home defeat to struggling Osasuna.

Uruguayan striker Richard Morales scored the only goal of the match at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, as the Basque club claimed all three points in Andalucia.

The result keeps Sevilla in third, but with the remaining weekend matches to come on Sunday, they could drop from their present position.

Espanyol missed the chance to leapfrog Sevilla and move into third after being held to goalless draw at Atletico Madrid.

A disappointing contest at the Vicente Calderon saw Espanyol goalkeeper Carlos Kameni the hero for the Barcelona club, as he made some key saves to earn a clean sheet against the Spanish capital outfit.

This included a stunning block of Fernando Torres's right footed penalty in the second half to preserve the 0-0 draw.

In the late match on Saturday, Real Sociedad defeated Deportivo La Coruna 1-0 at the Anoeta.

Gari Uranga's header just after the quarter hour mark gave the Basque club a much-needed win to erase the disappointment of last week's defeat at local rivals Athletic Bilbao.
