Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has confirmed his interest in Malaga's Duda.Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido has confirmed his interest in signing Malaga misfit Duda, but concedes a deal will be difficult to broker.
The Portuguese international has been ostracised by Malaga and is not being considered for first-team duties after refusing to sign a new contract with the club.
Malaga are now understandably keen to offload him during the January transfer window to avoid losing him for nothing next summer, but are looking to swell their coffers by at least é¼2 million.
That is a figure Sevilla are well prepared to meet, but Del Nido fears any move for the gifted midfielder will prove complicated.
"Right now there is no chance of signing Duda, " Del Nido stated.
"It's true we have spoken with Malaga and that we are ready to pay the amount of money that they are asking. "
Meanwhile, Malaga boss Antonio Tapia is having to get used to life without Duda, but admits he wants the club to find a replacement as quickly as possible.
"I have asked the club to find another player for the left side of midfield if Duda isn't playing, " Tapia declared.
"Replacing him will not be easy, Duda is one of the best set-piece takers in the world. He is up there with Beckham and Ronaldinho, but we won't just sign someone for the sake of it."
