Enzo Maresca has stated that he no intention of leaving Sevilla.
Enzo Maresca has stated that he no intention of leaving Sevilla despite receiving several offers and is prepared to fight for a first-team place.
The Italian midfielder has seen his chances become limited this season and that has led to speculation that he will quit the club when the winter transfer window opens in January.
Reports suggest that Palermo are ready to take him back to Serie A, but he has refuted the suggestion that he wants to move.
"I have received offers from other clubs, but I am very happy here," the former Juventus playmaker said. "I only think about playing regularly for Sevilla and that will happen.
"The team is playing superbly, the squad is very strong and it does not matter who plays, as everyone that goes out is doing really well."
Maresca admitted that he still feels pain in his left knee, but is pleased that there is not a need for him to rush back this season.
"I have started training and feel good, despite the pain," he said.
"The doctors have told me it could be another three or four weeks before I am ready, so we will have to wait and see.
"Last season, there was a greater urgency and I even played after injuring my meniscus, but this season things are fine.
"There is not so much pressure on the players, although I really do want to start playing again."
