Sevilla star Daniel Alves has signed a one-year extension to his current deal.
Sevilla star Daniel Alves has put an end to speculation linking him with a January move by signing an extension to his contract at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
The dynamic Brazilian full-back has been instrumental in Sevilla's rise to the top of the Primera Liga, and had been attracting interest from Liverpool and Barcelona after a string of impressive displays.
Premiership champions Chelsea were also linked with a January swoop for the 23-year-old, but Alves has now committed his immediate future to his current employers by agreeing a one-year extension.
The full-back's new contract ties him to the Andalucian club until 2012, but his buy-out clause remains unchanged at é¼60million (£40.23million).
After seeing off interest from some of the continent's top clubs, Sevilla sports director Ramon Rodriguez 'Monchi' hailed Alves' decision to sign a new deal.
"This deal proves that both parties are happy with each other and that the player feels valued and recognised by the club," Monchi told the club's official website.
