INTER IN SHOCK ZIDANE ENQUIRY

INTERNAZIONALE owner Massimo Moratti is believed to have contacted Zinedine Zidane's representatives in a bid to assess the extent of the Frenchman's alleged unhappiness at Real Madrid.

Spanish press reports claim the World Cup winner expected a rather different situation in Madrid, to the one he has found, and his wife, Veronica, is unsettled because she is yet to find their family a new home.

This would contradict the suggestions in the summer which indicated Zidane's partner was extremely keen on a move to Spain.

Inter are preparing a mega-bid involving £5 million plus Javier Zanetti and Stephane Dalmat, in return for the former Juventus playmaker.

Real chairman Florentino Perez feels the offer is just a joke and does not believe Moratti will pressure the world's most expensive footballer into cutting short his Spanish adventure after a matter of weeks.

The 2000 Champions League winners also deny any accusations that Zidane is not happy at Santiago Bernabeu.

Moratti has expressed a desire to play Christian Vieri, Ronaldo and Zidane in the same side at Inter, and tried to buy the 29-year-old from Juve.
