Del Bosque fielded a virtual reserve side for the game, although his line-up still contained such celebrated names as Steve Mcmanaman, Guti and Esteban Cambiasso.
The reigning European and Intercontinental champions seemed to be coasting to a comfortable victory, but two goals in the final ten minutes handed Terrassa a dramatic 3-3 draw.
But the 'meringues' boss was keen to pay tribute to the quality of opposition rather than focus on the faults of his Real charges.
"We could have ended the tie in the first-half as we had many chances but the killer touch was missing," declared Del Bosque.
"But they (Terrassa) did not give up and looked for the draw and kept the tie alive.
"This game generates situations like this, and I would rather not concentrate on us but look at the work of Terrassa.
"They (Terrassa) are a team that played well, and - despite the game going against them - never stopped trying, and you have to praise their talent."
The Bernabeu supremo also underlined his intention to treat the Cup competition with due respect, insisting it was a trophy he was keen to capture.
"It's a competition that we have a great affection for, and we will fight to keep playing in the next rounds."
